The Minnesota Twins held Joe Mauer Sideburns Night on August 10, 2006. The first 10,000 fans received replica Mauer sideburns, made out of synthetic dark hair with double-sided tape to allow for attachment to fans' faces. Sponsored by Mall of America, the recipients of the Mauer-esk sideburns also received, "The Park At MOA" ticket good for one free ride, a day's worth, or even one year's worth of free rides. The recipient was to take the ticket to any ticket booth at The Park at MOA to find out what they won.

Sponsored by Head & Shoulders" the Twins again gave away Joe Mauer sideburns at Target Field on August 10, 2012. This time the SGA sideburns were mounted on a card picturing Joe Mauer. The first 20,000 fans received this giveaway.
