The Sports Illustrated player posters
were offered for sale from 1968
through 1970, at the selling price of
$1.50 each. The 24" x 36"
borderless posters featured action or
posed color photos of the players. The
posters could be ordered through
dealers that carried Sports Illustrated
magazines, or through the mail by using
the order form on the dealer poster.
The 14-1/2" x 21-1/2" two sided dealer poster might have been hung
on a door window to advertise, or and
handed out by the dealer to customers
that requested one. Payment was to be
mailed to: Major League Posters, P.O.
Box 526, Norristown PA, 19404.
The sample posters as with the actual
posters have numbers on the front that
correspond with the inventory numbers
for the posters as listed on the dealer poster order form. The
posters are listed on the order form in
Alphabetical order by team, and the
first numbers 1-10 list the order of
National League teams and the order of
American League teams, followed by the
prefix "N' for National League or "A"
for American league, followed by the
number of cards for that team.
