NOTES:
 
   The Geo. Worthington Co. was a wholesale Hardware company located in Cleveland, Ohio. It was started by a 16 year old George Worthington in 1829. The advent of the railroad and the Civil War stimulated the company's growth. By 1870 the firm began issuing yearly catalogs as sales reached $1.5 million, and incorporated in 1887. From 1986-88 the company reorganized under Chapter 11 of the U.S. bankruptcy law, and in 1991 the company ceased to exist, after 162 years in business

 The earliest logo (1930s-1940s) used on George Worthington Company baseball gloves was the trademark "GW CO."  Endorsed models include; Chet Laabs S25 fielders glove, Billy Johnson  S15 Fielders glove, and Rudy York S24 first base mitt.

 The 1938 Geo. Worhington Co., Cleveland, "Anniversary" logo baseball glove models include endorsement by; Roxie Lawson No. 14, Lloyd "Sprout" Waner No. 12, Heinie Manush, Walter "Biff" Berger, Bill Rogell, Freddie Maguire fielders gloves, Rudy York S24, Rip Collins 23 first base mitt, Bill Dickey S33 & S37 Catchers mitt, No. 31 Big League Model catchers mitt, No 40 softball

 The large "W" Worthington logo dated to about 1940 -1950s, feature endorsements by Pee Wee Reese S16, Sam Jethroe S17, Mickey Mantle S94, Al Rosen S46 & SG95. Hank Thompson S15,  fielders gloves. Sam Leslie A122,  Steve Bilko ST12, First base mitt. these gloves were made by Denkert Sporting Goods.
